Bethel is a community that is located on the Kuskokwim River in Alaska. It is the largest community on the river. It has a population of more than 6,456 people. This small city that’s only accessible by river and air. During the wintertime, residents expect an average low of -20s and the summer average is a balmy 70s. There is also approximately 44 inches of snow.

In this area, dogsledding is a common type of race that people enjoy taking part in. They also enjoy dance festivals which features Yupik dancers each spring. Other activities include fishing for salmon, hunting for caribou, riding bikes, skiing, and even snow machining. Every other month there is also a Saturday Market, in which artisans frequently sell their creations.

This area is also home to many churches, to meet your religious beliefs. There are churches for those of Pentecostal faith, a Korean church, catholic church, and more. Of all the churches there, you will also find the Bethel Covenant Church.
