            Chickaloon Retreat Center Video

            The Need:

The Chickaloon mission begins with an intentional focus on all "ministers," which includes pastors, church staff and lay volunteers from the kaleidoscope of ethnic backgrouds, denominstions and genders. To help promote the comceps of 'healthy missional churches" there must be ways for sustaining excellence in Alaskan ministers and their families. This will be our primary distincitve, our DNA. Because of the extreme hardships that exist in bush Alaska, there will be emphasis put on those serviving in rural areas. We want to provide a safe place nestled within the boundless borders and cloud catching peaks of Chickaloon which surrenders itself to sojourning ministers who long for (1) spiritual, physical and emotional renewal, (2) sojournation elightenment from God's word by His Spirit, (3) the strengthening of leadership and pastoral skills, (4) a new hopw for self, family, ministry, church and community, (5) help in assessing where they are in God's plan through biblical counseling that allows for a time of reflective meditation and planning, (6) guided strategic sabbaticals and/or retreats, and finally, (7) the sup of fellowship so needed to refresh a dry soul and spirit.

            The Vision:

The Chickaloon vision is to provide a place for sojouners to encounter God through multifaceted opprotunities that take place in the untamed splendor of Chickaloon, a marvelous 80 are goft to ECCAK from Don and Effie Grahm.
For phases have been planned to carry out this vision. Phase One; the only phase that has recieved full approval of the ECCAK General Council, includes building two cabins during the summers of 2009-10 along with camping sites for tents and campers

            The Plan:

During the summers of 2009-10 we need many who wil come and be a part of those who love working outdoors to clear bruch and timber. We need those with building skills to build two cabins. We need those who sense God nudging them to invest financially.

The ECCAK General  Council has authorized $65,000 toward the building of two cabins. This will fall short of all we need. We continue to receive additional funds and have set a goal of $85,000 to complete Phase One.
